Recent Happenings

Well it has been a busy last week (in a good way). I am pleased to announce that my friend Scott got married this past weekend. Congratulations to him and his new wife Jessie (is there such thing as an old wife when it comes to marriages?).

Sunday Karrie and I travelled up to Bangor to see Karrie’s Mom and also visit her brother & family.  We spent the night up there, then headed over to Bar Harbor on Monday to visit Karrie’s sister and boyfriend.  After the obligatory stop at Gifford’s for some parfait and ice cream, we headed back in time to go check out the fireworks.  As usual, we brought the camera.  You can check out the pictures here.  Tuesday held various appointments, so most of the afternoon was tied up running around.  We did have the distinct pleasure however, of meeting a visual effects producer from ILM that night at Karrie’s aunt’s house.  As I fool around with various visual effects techiniques as a hobby, it was a great pleasure to pick the brain of someone who does it for a living (and knows what they’re talking about to boot).  I’m now back to work and I’ve recently found out that there is going to be mandatory overtime in certain circumstances.  Needless to say I am NOT looking forward to that, should I be asked to come in on a day off.
