I agree! It managed to be a major update (with current film and effects tech), but still capture a lot of the FEEL of the original, with a clever way to "reboot" the story.

My favorite "translation," I think, is that all the sound effects for computers and the like are still "beep! boop! bing!" as in the original series, and yet they managed to layer them in in such a way that they didn't sound cheesy.

Possibly your shortest movie review for one of the best you've ever seen. I'm gonna have to put "Wrath of Khan" above this current Trek, but man oh man have you ever seen a sexier Enterprise? I was a fan of Archer's battleplated explorer, but this new design combines muscle and grace...and I love the blue nacelles! Ooops, I'm using exclamation points and I'm drooling. That's because I'm remembering the Enterprise lifting out of the mists around Saturn. Talk about a money shot. Lots of fun. I've seen it three times and plan to see it some more.

Ever!  Possibly one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.  Go see it.
