About Me

Bio

I began life in a house in a small neighborhood with my mother and father.  A few years later, my brother arrived and we soon moved to a rural area where my father built a new house for us to live in; good thing, too, because my sister arrived that year.  My brother and I terrorized each other and occasionally my sister, built a myriad of forts and treehouses around the property, rode bikes or sleds depending on the time of year, and generally caused all sorts of controlled mayhem.

Sometime in the early 90’s our family acquired its first personal computer.  I was instantly hooked.  It was around this time that I changed my mind from going to college for Architecture to going for Computer Technology.  After high school, I did just that; I learned about programming, databases, computer hardware, and making web sites before I ran out of money and had to call it quits for the time being.

Shortly thereafter I began working for a semiconductor company and shortly after that I moved into my own apartment.  A year later, my company put out a memo calling for people to put up that year’s round of co-ops.  Looking to try out the roommate thing without any fear of long-term grief, I offered my second room for rent.  My roommate was—while very smart—completely lacking in common sense.  It wasn’t a pleasant experience.  Nonetheless, when he left at the end of the summer, I soon found myself missing the supplemental income.

Desiring extra money, I put out an ad in the paper for another roommate.  The first person to respond to my ad not only moved in soon after but also became my girlfriend a number of months later and is now my wife.  We currently reside in our own house in the suburbs with our four pet turtles.  In addition to working for the semiconductor company, I freelance as a web developer and DVD author;  I also attend school part-time for Information Technology.
